Murder in Play

The English Theater Group HUBBUB in an evening of mystery and murder

On behalf of HUBBUB, the English-language theater group of the
Department of English and American Studies, we would like to invite you
to this semester's performance of
The dress rehearsal of Boris Smolensky’s production, “Murder at
Priorswell Manor,” is not going well. The actors are more interested in
their egos than the play, the props seem to have a life of their own,
and the director’s ideas seem destined to finish off what is left of
the production.
Suddenly fiction becomes reality when Boris’s wife, Renee, is murdered
on stage. Who is the murderer? Was it Ginette, Boris’s pretty but not
exactly clever mistress? Was it Renee’s acting rival and former TV soap
star, Christa? Or was it Boris himself?
The hilarious text employs a play-within-a-play device to satirize the
relationships in this untalented but entertaining fictional theater
company. Numerous clues about the murderer keep the audience guessing
until the final moments of the play.
All performances will be in English. Reservations are recommended!
