Projektbeschreibung
This Central Project administers the funds for travels of personnel and guest scientists, as well as for the service of the Microarray Facility at the Department at the LMU Department of Botany, Munich. Moreover, it organizes the internal meetings and the international symposium on 'Intracellular Signaling in Plants'. The major part of the funding for the Central Project intends to make the most-advanced and best-accepted technology for global transcriptomics available to each group. The key concept of the transcriptomics unit of this Central Project is to integrate all transcriptomic experiments of the Research Unit by performing RNA extraction from Arabidopsis plants grown under standardized conditions and by performing DNA array analysis in one location. The central transcriptome analysis will be instrumental to the subsequent bioinformatic analysis of retrograde-signaling-relevant changes in the mRNA expression of nuclear genes and allow to develop knowledge-based models of the regulatory network(s) underlying plastid-to-nucleus signaling.
