Hybrid teaching

The bologna.lab's Hybrid Teaching team is developing materials and further training programmes for lecturers on the topic of hybrid teaching as part of the Berlin-wide university cooperation "Hybrid Teaching Network".

The project

Together with the network partners Charité, Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Freie Universit?t, Technische Universit?t and Universit?t der Künste and in close cooperation with the Berlin Centre for University Teaching, the aim is to develop further training courses, room concepts, didactic recommendations, handouts and self-study units on the opportunities and challenges of hybrid teaching formats for members of all Berlin universities. The HU is responsible for the overall coordination of the project and is involved in the network with two sub-projects.

In the bologna.lab sub-project, the focus is on developing and supporting didactic concepts for small to medium-sized hybrid courses. In the sub-project of our computer and media service, the focus is on the development and testing of room concepts for various hybrid teaching-learning scenarios (technology, room equipment, training concepts for the use of media technology).

Theme week on hybrid teaching

From 24 to 28 June 2024, Humboldt-Universit?t held its first "Teaching Week", which this time was dedicated entirely to hybrid teaching. In the week surrounding the Day of Teaching 2024, teachers, students and staff from Humboldt-Universit?t and the Berlin Hybrid Teaching Network presented their approaches and programmes relating to hybrid teaching. Together, we explored the question of what contribution hybrid teaching and learning formats can make to improving teaching. All members of Humboldt-Universit?t (teaching staff, students and employees) as well as interested guests were cordially invited to take part in the theme week.

What can hybrid teaching and learning settings do to improve teaching?

To this end, we interviewed Humboldtians who explained the potential of hybrid teaching on the topics of flexibilisation, inclusion and internationalisation.
