Patents and licences
In addition to research and teaching, the importance of transfer activities for universities has steadily increased, as innovations from research can be of great benefit to society through an active transfer of knowledge and technology to the economy. The creative potential of scientists and students at universities can be transferred to industry through identification in conjunction with an active property rights strategy and thus made accessible to all through commercialisation.
The top priority for effective commercialisation is to secure the rights to inventions. The University's aim is to ensure the protection of university inventions that have the potential to be commercialised. The university links the scientific quality of research results with optimised patent protection and also makes this quality visible to the public with its own applications.
The strategies, processes and handling of university IP are set out in the patent and licence strategy. For confidentiality agreements or material transfer agreements, please contact the legal affairs team.
