Places to discover and explore

With its historic buildings, monuments, laboratories and exhibition centres, Humboldt-Universit?t shapes the image of the capital as well as its cultural life. These places combine science, history and the present - and bring knowledge to life.

Humboldt Labor

The Humboldt Labor of the Humboldt-Universit?t in the Humboldt Forum is a lively place of knowledge and science. It sees itself as a workshop for ideas and a space for communication, dialogue, research and teaching. Exhibitions give visitors an insight into the diversity and relevance of research. The multifunctional exhibition space also regularly hosts events ranging from scientific lectures and panel discussions to artistic performances. Admission is free of charge.

Tieranatomisches Theater

The Tieranatomisches Theater (TA T) is an exhibition space and stage for experimental forms of presentation and a laboratory for curatorial practices. As a research institution of the Humboldt-Universit?t, the TA T is dedicated to current challenges of museum work and the design of future knowledge spaces. TA T networks positions and actors from international communities from science, the arts and civil society - transdisciplinary, transcultural, cross-generational.

Object laboratory

The object laboratory at the Centre for Cultural Technology offers space for innovative research and teaching at the HU, focusing on material practices and body-centred approaches. In the tradition of cultural technology research, the production, communication and processing of knowledge are researched here. A central aspect of this is the exchange of knowledge with society and the integration of non-university forms of knowledge.

Sp?th-Arboretum

The historic botanical garden ensemble Sp?th-Arboretum was created in the 1870s. Franz Sp?th expanded the gardens of his villa into a show and experimental garden and thus laid the foundation for the botanical garden of the Humboldt-Universit?t. Over the centuries, an extensive botanical collection of living trees and shrubs was created. Together with a herbarium and archives, it is now used for research and teaching.

Kleine Humboldt Galerie

The Kleine Humboldt Galerie (KHG) is a student curatorial collective that conceives and realises contemporary exhibitions. It brings together students from various universities and disciplines and sees itself as an experimental space for new curatorial practices. The focus is on current socially relevant topics and a collaborative working approach.
