International cooperation and mobility

Doctoral students can enrich their profile with international mobility in research and teaching. At Humboldt-Universit?t, for example, they can realise projects with strategic partners. With Erasmus+, they can teach abroad for up to two weeks, attend a continuing education programme or go on a group trip with their students. Digital teaching collaborations with COIL are very flexible.

Our culture

Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin is committed to a modern, transparent and internationally competitive doctoral culture. The university has set itself the goal of further developing its doctoral procedures in order to meet the high academic standards and at the same time increase its attractiveness for national and international academics in the early stages of their careers. These guidelines pursue two central goals: To significantly increase the transparency of doctoral procedures in order to ensure fair and comprehensible assessment standards. And to strengthen the functionality of scientific quality assessment to ensure that only outstanding dissertations are awarded the degree.

Workshops of the Humboldt Graduate School

The Humboldt Graduate School prepares early-career researchers for leadership roles within and outside academia. It offers qualification workshops.

Offers for doctoral candidates in the Excellence Network

The partner institutions of the Berlin University Alliance have joined forces to organise their Graduate Studies Support Programme, a broad portfolio of workshops, retreats and conferences.

Doctoral network of the Humboldt University

The doctoral network supports researchers in early career phases through exchange, workshops and mentoring. The network is open to all and cooperates with graduate centres.

Do you need to juggle your doctorate and your family? The Centre for Equal Opportunities can support you with childcare, flexible and/or reduced working hours, advice on maternity leave and parental leave.
