Studying beyond the lecture theatre

In keeping with the spirit of our namesake, Humboldt-Universit?t offers its students more than just traditional courses during their studies. With us, you have the opportunity to satisfy your curiosity for knowledge in various formats, to question things critically and to gain new insights through research - in the laboratory or in practice.

Entering into an exchange of knowledge with society

Learning and teaching with society

The "Learning and Teaching with Society" programme supports teachers and students in shaping academic questions and seminar work in cooperation with society. The aim is to integrate questions, experience and knowledge from society into teaching and university work with students, to learn from the various actors in civil society, culture or politics and to try out an equal exchange. Lecturers can apply for funding for their courses.

Developing solutions for industrial companies

The Innovation Lab is aimed at Master's students, particularly from the fields of computer science, economics, physics and chemistry. Three Berlin-based industrial companies each contribute a use case to a lab that deals with relevant fields of development such as cloud logistics, AI-supported processes or cyber security issues. On the topic of advanced materials, students in a project group develop user-centred solutions that are relevant to the ecological transformation of industry and enable the use of new, more efficient and/or more sustainable materials in production.
