Description

On behalf of the Federal Ministry for of Education and Research (BMBF) the German Network for Educational Research Data (GNERD) (http://www.forschungsdaten-bildung.de/home?la=de) archives the research data generated in the BMBF Framework Programme for the Promotion of Empirical Educational Research. GNERD is a joint project of GESIS (http://www.gesis.org/en/home/), DIPF (http://www.dipf.de/en) and IQB (https://www.iqb.hu-berlin.de/fdz).
GNERD aims at storing research data permanently and enabling their re-use in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations. It provides information on and access to studies, tools, and data. GNERD also consults and trains researchers with respect to the management and the methodologically adequate handling of research data.
GNERD provides researchers in empirical educational research with:

? access to data and tools for their own empirical research
? information about data management (documentation, data protection, etc.) and
? an opportunity for the safe and sustainable storage of their own research data and research instruments

GNERD will set up the technological, organizational and legal infrastructure required for this purpose.

The Research Data Centre at the IQB, as one of the project partners forming GNERD, particularly aims to archive, document and make available for re-use those studies from the BMBF Framework Programme dealing with educational achievement data.
