Description

In this definition project in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, the necessary conditions for a subsequent joint project to set up demonstration objects for the multiple use of water, climate-adapted agriculture and utilization of biomass for energy supply will be identified. This includes (a) technical-technological conditions for the development of constructed wetlands, and a new recycling chain of water and biomass in combination with the establishment of climate-adapted land use systems by taking soil protection into account; (b) study institutional conditions for implementation of demonstration projects (e.g. authorities, farms, water and energy user associations); (c) study of local socio-economic conditions for the activities of SMEs; and (d) the potential involvement of civil society for creation political and social acceptance. The project relates primarily to irrigated agriculture in salinized land areas, but is also suitable for other locations.
