The Oxford Berlin Research Partnership is offering Flexible Funds to foster collaboration between researchers in Berlin and Oxford. Until 15 December, HU doctoral candidates, postdocs, and professors can apply to receive funding for joint projects.
The first representative survey on academic freedom at German universities presents an overall positive picture. At the same time, researchers do perceive certain limitations. A more objective, evidence-based discussion is necessary.
Academic freedom protects not only individual researchers, but also universities. Political influence remains a danger - self-administration, legal protection and solidarity are required.
