Anniversary concert: 50 years of the Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin Choir

Choral music with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Hugo Distler and others

The Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin choir is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an anniversary concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin. It will perform a cappella choral music from the 16th to the 21st century with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Zoltán Kodály, Hugo Distler, Gunther Erdmann, Jaakko M?ntyj?rvi and other composers.

Since 1975, the choir, which consists of students, staff and alumni of the HU, has mainly performed choral music without orchestral accompaniment (a capella). The choir has performed almost all the pieces on the concert programme at least once in the past 50 years. This creates a colourful arc of sound and memory on the evening in the Konzerthaus.
