How can more attractive permanent positions be created for outstanding female researchers in times of tight budgets? How should job profiles be designed so that they are internationally attractive? These questions are the focus of the kick-off event for the 18th round of the ProFiL programme to promote excellent female researchers. Prof Dr Julia von Blumenthal, President of Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, will discuss this with experts from higher education research and science policy under the title "Reform of career paths and personnel structures in science: scope for action in the area of conflict between excellence requirements and budget cuts".
The ProFiL programme, which is supported by the Berlin universities and Charité, supports highly qualified female scientists on their way to a full professorship. Since 2004, numerous participants have been appointed to leading positions in science and university management. As part of the Berlin University Alliance (BUA), the programme has been expanded and supplemented by an international line.
The event will take place on 8 July 2025 in the Senate Hall of Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, Unter den Linden 6. Participation is possible after registration with the organisers of the ProFiL programme.
