Symposium: "Anti-Semitism as a challenge for university and school education"

Lectures and workshops on 12 and 13 June for students, teachers, educational specialists, doctoral students, postdocs and lecturers at universities

Anti-Semitism is a growing problem for society as a whole and as such also affects the areas of education and its institutions. Statistically speaking, anti-Semitic attitudes are less widespread at universities than in society as a whole, but as public places and social institutions, they are nevertheless venues for these social conflicts - just like schools. At the same time, these institutions are places of education and the transfer of knowledge about prejudice and discrimination processes.

Discussing aggressive resentment and hatred as an interdisciplinary and educational policy problem

The symposium on 12 and 13 June 2025 at Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin is aimed at prospective and experienced teachers at universities and schools with academic lectures on anti-Semitism and workshops on dealing with anti-Semitism in schools and universities. The aim is to impart knowledge about the social and subject-related conditions of anti-Semitism in educational institutions and to discuss aggressive resentment and hatred as an interdisciplinary and educational policy problem. In addition, the event is intended to provide a space for the objective examination of anti-Semitism and how to deal with it.
