Description

The research project focuses on the transnational religious connections of Vietnamese and Ghanaian migrants. Starting from Berlin as a new metropolis, it concentrates on religious networks in Germany and Europe. In the second part, the ethnographic research will focus on how religious, social, and economic ties, between host and home countries, are forged and maintained. The main research questions are directed towards the negotiation of gender, generation, and power conflicts, both in the diaspora and in relation to migrants religious practices, when dealing with experiences of exclusion trough restrictive immigration politics.
