Project description

The goal of this project is to realize reliable and robust single photon sources and to use them for quantum information processing. After first studies with optically excited sources emitting at 800–900 nm we want to implement sources in the telecom band at 1310 nm or 1550 nm. Main objectives are the generation of entangled photons and of indistinguishable photons from two different quantum dots. We also want to demonstrate fiber-based quantum cryptography, optical quantum gates, and several components of a quantum information network with these sources.
