Description

In the ethical debates of the past decades, it has become customary to draw on ancient ideas in order to criticize the prevailing moral philosophy and to develop new systematic conceptions. The project examines a variety of transformations ancient ethical models undergo as they are adapted in this fashion to questions of contemporary ethics. Within this general field of questions, we examine in particular the various theories of the sources of normativity that have been developed and defended with recourse to ancient ideas.
