Description

The main goal of the project is to control a nano-optical element through mesoscopic structuring und to develop novel concepts for first mesoscopic optical devices. The functional element is a coupled resonator optical waveguide (CROW) structure that connects a pair of donor and acceptor particles over a long distance. Sensitivity of this functional element to the external environment will be established through functionalization and nano-structuring on a mesoscopic length scale. The experimental method relies on single molecule detection by confocal microscopy combined with scanning probe techniques (AFM,SNOM).
