Project description

In 1820 the German chemist and industrialist J. G. Dingler first started publishing the "Polytechnische Journal". The journal was published over a period of 111 years and has hence become an important and European wide source for the history of knowledge, culture, and technology - in Germany at least it is without compare. The project is a cooperation between the Institut für Kulturwissenschaft at Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, the S?chsischen Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universit?tsbibliothek Dresden and an experienced service provider for digitization, Editura GmbH. We aim at digitizing Dingler s "Polytechnisches Journal" as well as publishing it completely on the web. Access to Dingler-Online will be absolutely free of charge.
