Project description

This project focuses on understanding and further developing O2 activation within molecular metal-siloxide systems. The aim is to investigate how activation can be influenced and how downstream steps proceed in order to achieve functional systems that enable the oxyfunctionalization of hydrocarbons. The primary aim is therefore not to find catalysts with high conversion rates and frequencies, but rather to conduct fundamental stoichiometric investigations into the targeted construction of novel superoxide, peroxide, and oxide metal units, as well as to discover new elementary steps. Of course, such findings form the basis for the development of catalytic/applicable systems in the medium term, and research is also conducted in this direction whenever the opportunity arises.
