Neuromuscular control of locomotion

The project "Neuromuscular Control" deals with the interaction between the neuro-biomechanical properties of the human musculoskeletal system and the central nervous processes of movement control. In addition, findings about the influence of this interaction on the effectiveness of locomotion can be obtained. For this the motor behaviour is quantified after a pre-defined manipulation of the neuro-biomechanical properties or the environmental conditions. These manipulations are provoked both in the context of short-term and long-term interventions.
