Cultural Differentiation between Health and Illness in Welfare States

The research project aims at studying images and perceptions of health and illness in modern European welfare states and, in particular, in Sweden and Germany. The interdisciplinary and transnational project was initiated by the Department for Northern European Studies at Humboldt-Universit?t, in co-operation with the Department of Humanities of ?rebro University, the Swedish Institute for Futures Studies, S?dert?rn University College, University Hospital Hamburg, and the Institute of Nordic Philology at Cologne University. The co-operation receives financial support from the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation (Riksbankens Jubileumsfond) and the Swedish Research Council for Labour and Social Science (Forskningsr?det f?r arbetsliv och socialvetenskap).
