Project description

The Coordination Centre (Koordinierungsstelle) for Scientific University Collections in Germany promotes the visibility and usability of scientific collections nationwide. The aim is to further develop the collections as decentralised infrastructures for research, teaching and transfer across disciplines and locations and to establish sustainable networking across locations and disciplines. With its activities, the Koordinierungsstelle contributes to making the potential of the collections visible, to professionalising the work in and with collections, to supporting a motivated and lively collection community, to stimulating and promoting the exchange of ideas and information between the collections and to strategically orienting the collection work in the individual universities. The Koordinierungsstelle is networked in a variety of ways with university and non-university actors, institutions and departments and at the same time acts across disciplines, genres and institutions as well as nationally.
