Description

Goal of the project was to intensify contacts and cooperation in research with universities in the region South Caucasus/ Central Asia and Moldova. In the very center of research stands the conflict between Armenians and Azerbaijanis, especially in the enclave Nagorno-Karabakh. To analyze this conflict we organized a workshop in Berlin, here scientists from Germany and other Western European countries met with theorists and practitioners from the region. The idea was to establish a context and foundation for further research. Furthermore, we developed a concept to promote, support and integrate young scholars from Moldova, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
The results of the workshop will be published in a special issue of the international journal “Communist and Post-Communist Studies” in June 2012.
