Project description

Within the postmigrant spaces of politics, the political preferences have become more multifaceted and complex with changing representative demands of diverse political groups. The immigrant perspective, their political organization, their contribution to the political systems in Germany often remains underrepresented and understudied. By extending our scope in this way, this project studies the immigrant women and LGBTQ initiatives and civil society organizations as an intermediary space of representative democracy in Germany. By doing so, the project explores the bottom-up processes of political participation and their impact on immigrant women and LGBTQ people’s perception of political responsivity in Germany.
