FG 497: Structural Change and Transition in Agriculture - TP 6: Decision-making support for the implementation of environmental and quality objectives I

Due to the various and increasing challenges of structural change and transition in agriculture, political decision-makers are faced with complex tasks. Particularly, the operationalisation of environmental and quality objectives poses difficulties for the implementation of policy measures. Additionally, a considerable number of institutional, financial and other restrictions have to be taken into account.
Taking the case of the formation of the agri-environmental programme in Saxony-Anhalt, the application of interactive mathematical programming approaches to scientific decision-making support for complex political tasks is analysed. Furthermore, it is analysed in a comparative study how interactive programming approaches can be used for the development of rural areas in Poland.
Using an exemplary and comparative approach the project will contribute to the scientific basis of decision-making support for the formation of complex systems.
