Project description
The principal goal is to investigate the structure, mechanism, assembly and evolution of complex metalloenzymes, containing a novel double cuban iron-sulfur cluster. We combine protein crystallography with (transient) kinetics, site-directed mutagenesis and spectroscopic techniques to reveal the overall structure and mechanism of this new enzyme family. The major objective is to gain insight into the structural and functional diversity of proteins containing double-cubane-clusters.
