Developing extensive vegetation-mats for roof-planting in the boreal zone

Developing extensive and aesthetic viewing vegetation-mats for roof-planting in the boreal zone or low winter hardiness zone is focused. Up to now, roof planting exists only in form of thick-layed and therefore heavy planting of grass, which is known since a long time. Functioning lightweight systems with lasting effect use for practically all roofs – also for large industrial roofs- are unknown. The varied ecological and economic advantages are thereby used insufficiently. Both partners of the cooperation look forward to develop a roof planting with suitable plant mixtures, growing in these climatezones, followig the Xeroflor idea (poor in care, thin-layered, low load, for all roofs, low cost) so surfaces in the boreal zone could be covered with extensive plantings.
