Project description

Modern CAD/CAM systems are expensive and have high running costs. They are inflexible in their application and do not use the full capability of the machines, which leads to long processing times. The costs of CAD/CAM systems pose a challenge for SMEs for the production of a small number of high-technology workpieces. The aim of the new development is to significantly shorten the modelling and programming of complex high-technology workpieces by providing predefined but flexibly configurable modules. The modules should be completely described by nested mathematical functions and automatically provide optimized program codes. Parameterization of these mathematical functions is intended to enable flexible programming. To improve the surface quality, an automated provision of machine parameters for flexible tool placement is to be created. Correction options based on tool wear, deflection and mechanical geometry errors are implemented.
