Project description
The project "SoLixG" explores how the development of new digital infrastructures in Europe (re)configures notions and practices of democratic sovereignty, collective community and practices of border demarcation. The financing, expansion and maintenance of digital communication technologies are seen as essential for economic recovery, political sovereignty and social cohesion, as well as for Europe's future position in the world. Against the backdrop of recent developments, such as the Covid19 pandemic and the EU and UK's post-pandemic recovery plans, we ask how the transformations characteristic of the 'digital age' are catalysed and how they develop social life.
