Description
In this project, the coupling of nanoscopic sized light emitters to optical microcavities (microtorroidal cavities) is studied in very well-controllable systems. Nanopositioning tools developed in scanning microscopy and single molecule detection are utilized in order to manipulate coupled emitters and gain spectroscopic information with very high precision. We intend to investigate the interaction between light and matter on a nanoscopic size scale in order to understand the behaviour of this kind of physical system in a level fundamentally dominated by its quantum properties.
